This lab was somewhat difficult to measure data for, as we did not use any hard measurements for any of the stations other than the foundation digging station. However, I believe we did get the final measurements for the dimensions of the pit, which, if I heard right, were 51” x 54”, as opposed to the 48” x 66” that we were supposed to dig. I imagine that these wrong dimensions came from the fact that we were changing who was digging the foundation, and while digging, the posts and lines that we had measured out were moved slightly on multiple occasions. Our groups were able to dig about 2/3 of the pit in the 30-40 minutes that we had.
It was very hard to measure our productivity on the shave horses, because we were picking up projects that others had started and starting projects that other people had to finish. Additionally, not everyone was doing the same work, and multiple people stepped away to do other tasks.
I was not involved in the splitting of wood, but I did help with carving the wooden pegs that we used to construct the frame. We were able to carve about 3-5 nails each in the 30-40 minutes that we had spent on them, which led to the creation of about 18 nails in total.
